The female lead for the upcoming drama My Girlfriend is a Gumiho has not been cast yet, although actress Shin Se Kyung and singer/actress Sandara Park have been contenders for a while. Another name has been added to the mix as a candidate for this drama to be written by the Hong sisters, and that’s Jeon Ji Hyun. This news excites me because I’ve liked Jeon Ji Hyun in what I’ve seen her in (although I haven’t seen her in much), and I could see this pair working for some reason. Although Jeon Ji Hyun is drop dead gorgeous, she seems to work well with the clumsy, goofy type of guy seeing how much chemistry she had with Cha Tae Hyun in the movie My Sassy Girl, and so I think she and Lee Seung Gi would hit it off, although they’d be quite the unconventional, unexpected couple. This isn’t a sure thing though because she’s also considering taking the female lead role in Bi’s comeback drama Runaway, so I’m sure a decision will be made soon and announced in due time.
I had been hoping all this time that they’d consider Moon Chae Won for the role because I think she’s a great actress for someone so young, and she’s beautiful so she’d fit the goddessy type of role that the gumiho is known for, but since her name hasn’t been brought up in the running for the female lead role, I’m throwing my vote in for Jeon Ji Hyun because I’d prefer her over the other two contenders. What do y’all think?
